Primary Objective

The Area Sales Director reporting to VP of Sales for APAC, is responsible for resource allocation, including budget and personnel in order to generate revenue within a network security organization by closing sales for an assigned area. Sell products and services directly to end users through indirect sales channels such as value added resellers (VARs), and distributors. Serve as a liaison to channel partners with regards to any sales-related service and support issues.


Responsibilities
  • Forecast annual, quarterly, and monthly sales revenue streams accurately
  • Oversee the primary activities of the Territory Sales Managers and Sales Engineers within the assigned area to maximize sales revenues and attain corporate objectives
  • Assist sales team with all account related questions, issue, and concerns
  • Identify opportunities and challenges within assigned area and create strategies to maximize sell through, profit, revenue, and market share
  • Develop specific revenue plans for sales teams as needed to ensure growth in all products/services targeted by the organization
  • Conduct and/or receive weekly reviews of sales, RMAs, returns & allowances (R&A), quotes, promotions, sell through, inventory management, turns, forecasts, replenishment orders, backorders, and any other account activities that will impact financial results for the account(s). Resolve or delegate any issues that arise as a result of the reviews
  • Develop and negotiate terms and conditions for accounts to effectively manage overall growth in assigned area
  • Serve as escalation point for issues beyond team authority; resolve team conflicts as necessary
  • Handle personnel activities of staff (i.e., hire, train, reward, motivate, discipline, terminate, performance reviews, and pay discussions)

 

Education, Knowledge, Skills & Competencies
  • Education, Knowledge, Skills & Competencies
  • Four year degree in business, sales, marketing or equivalent training in business or sales management
  • Twelve (12) plus years of sales experience with five (5) years of sales management experience
  • Familiar with both start up and mature business models
  • Demonstrated ability to build executive relationships at national reseller and distribution accounts
  • Proven track record of sales and marketing excellence with value added resellers (VARs), national resellers and distributors
  • Proven and consistent achievement of assigned objectives and quota’s
  • Excellent communication (oral or written) and presentation skills.  
  • Knowledge of networking infrastructure and Internet security industry
  Travel
  • Greater than 50% or as required to exceed sales objectives
